The Webmaster is a virtual volunteer role for Guardian Angels for Soldier’s Pet© responsible for the design, content, upkeep of the organization’s website. The responsibilities can be accomplished from the volunteer’s home, via email and phone communications.
Reports to the National Marketing & Communications Director.
Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain organization’s website as needed
- Ensure site is functioning properly and that hosting platform is up-to-date
- Generate and revise web pages as needed
- Layout content on the website
- Examine and analyze site traffic
- Regulate and manage access rights of different users on the website
- Plan for future changes to the website
- Check assigned email address a minimum of 3 times week.
- Prepare and submit the monthly “Volunteer Service Hours” to the National Office by the 15th of the month following the reporting month – Example: Prepared report for Jan 2017 – Submit by Feb 15, 2017
Desired Skills:
- A passion to help our military service members, veterans, and their beloved pets plus work with other people who share this passion.
- Professional, organized, reliable, able to work with a diverse group of people, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- 2-3 years of IT experience preferred
- Comfortable using and access to MS office (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiar with GoDaddy and WordPress.
- Good communication skills via phone calls and email.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Estimated Time: approximately 20 hours per month
